Meet the judges


Moira O’Neill


Moira is an independent freelance investment and money writer, editor and presenter. She is a columnist for Financial Times Money. Previously, she was head of content at Interactive Investor, editor at Moneywise, personal finance editor at Investors Chronicle and deputy editor at Money Observer. She is the winner of multiple Headlinemoney awards, including the overall Journalist of the Year for 2024, plus the WTW Wealth Investment and Pensions Journalist of the Year awards for 2025, and a former winner of a Wincott Journalism Award. She holds the Financial Planning Certificate and is the author of two personal finance books, Finance at 40 and Saving and Investing for Your Children. Before her journalism career, she read Classics at Cambridge University.


Gabriel Nussbaum


Gabriel, better known as That Money Guy, is a leading personal finance educator, TEDx speaker, and content creator on a mission to transform financial education for good. Over the past five years, he has grown an audience of more than 1.6 million across social media, with his content surpassing 300 million views. This growth enabled him to leave his career at Barclays in 2022 and turn his passion into his full-time mission. In that time, Gabriel has collaborated with some of the UK’s largest financial institutions, interviewed the Chancellor of the Exchequer and the Governor of the Bank of England, and even introduced the Prime Minister at 10 Downing Street experiences that give him a unique perspective at the intersection of policy, personal finance and people.


Tola Onanuga


Tola Onanuga is an award-nominated journalist with more than 15 years of experience in the industry. She currently works as an editor at Yahoo Finance UK, having previously held roles at Business Insider, The Guardian, and Wired. Her writing has generally focused on business, finance and technology.


Edmund Greaves


Edmund Greaves is editor of personal finance platform and podcast Mouthy Money. He is former deputy editor of Moneywise magazine and has been working variously in political, travel and financial media since 2012.


Momodou Musa Touray


Momodou Musa Touray is a senior reporter at Money Marketing, covering investment platforms and protection. He is an award-winning journalist with extensive experience reporting on financial services both in the UK and internationally. In 2022, he was named Runner-Up for Best Platform Journalist at the Schroders UK Platform Awards, and in 2024, he was recognised as Rising Star of the Year (B2B) at the Headlinemoney Awards.


Will Rainey


Will Rainey is a writer and speaker focused on helping parents teach their kids about money. He is the author of the children’s book, Grandpa’s Fortune Fables. His work has appeared in the Financial Times, Forbes, iNews and The National News. His website, bluetreesavings.com, has helped thousands of parents start talking to their kids about money. He has been invited to speak at Fortune 500 (Global) companies. Before starting bluetreesavings.com, Will was an award winning investment consultant. He was providing investment advice to governments, insurance companies and some of the world’s largest pension schemes.


Vix Leyton


Vix Leyton is an award-winning personal finance expert and communications specialist, currently working with thinkmoney but with more than 15 years’ experience in consumer and tech PR, she’s built her reputation on turning opaque financial jargon into plain English that people can act on. Her career has spanned household names like Confused.com and Quidco through to international money-saving platforms. She also hosts the Spendology podcast, having real life, honest discussions aimed at making money conversations more accessible to all. Outside of finance, Vix pulls double duty as a stand-up comedian.


Clare West


Clare is Finance Editor at Investing Insiders. She has been writing about personal finance and investing for more than 12 years, helping to make challenging financial topics more digestible and the world of investing more accessible.


Jaskiran Mangat


Jaskiran is a holistic financial wellbeing expert combining experiential financial education with emphasis on psychological safety and cultural sensitivity. Holly Mead


Holly Mead is an award-winning journalist who has been writing about investing and personal finance for 15 years. She has previously worked for The Times & Sunday Times, The Sun and Daily Mail as well as the investment research company Morningstar. She has won awards for her comment pieces, broadcast work and investing articles – as well as picking up a trophy or two in her local netball league.


Laura Purkess


Laura is a personal finance writer for Investing Insiders and is a multi-award-winning freelance financial journalist, with over seven years’ experience writing for a range of national newspaper finance sections and financial trade magazines. Laura won Headline Money’s overall Journalist of the Year Award 2025, and was named Pensions Journalist of the Year in 2025 & 2024. She was previously features editor on The Sun’s money desk.


Anna Jordan


At smallbusiness.co.uk, Anna writes SEO-driven guides to help entrepreneurs take their business ideas from the kitchen table to launch day and beyond. Her comprehensive features on small business grants and business bank accounts are consistently among the top performers on the site. She also created the brand’s podcast, Small Business Snippets. Largely self-taught, she has interviewed some of Britain’s biggest business names including Deborah Meaden, Spencer Matthews and Trinny Woodall.


Brean Horne


Brean a personal finance writer for Investing Insiders with almost a decade of experience, dedicated to helping people navigate the (often) confusing world of money management and financial planning. Working with consumer finance platforms including NerdWallet, Which? and Moneywise, she has written news, features and advice guides as well as producing podcasts and videos that help people better understand their finances.


Jason Butler


Jason has an extensive background in retail financial services, 15 years of which was as a partner in the wealth management firm that he founded. When he was a practising adviser Jason held both Chartered Financial Planner and Chartered Fellow of the CISI status. Since retiring from advising clients in 2015, Jason has been a serial angel investor in innovative start-up businesses, many of which are involved in financial services.


Tony Ross


Tony is an independent Chartered Financial Planner and the founder of Velocity Financial Planning, which he established in 2021 following over a decade in the profession. Tony is recognised by VouchedFor as a ‘Top Rated Adviser’, achieving a 5/5 rating from client reviews. 2025 has been a standout year for Velocity. The firm was recently named Micro Firm of the Year at the MoneyAge Awards and is featured in the Citywire New Model Adviser Top 100. The firm also gained additional recognition through multiple award nominations from Professional Adviser, Money Marketing, and Investment Life & Pensions MoneyFacts. Tony studied Economics at The University of Exeter and holds a number of specialist qualifications in investment management, personal finance, and behavioural economics.
