It may sound like a cliche, but I genuinely believe that finance doesn’t have to be boring, or complicated, or intimidating.
Finance is – or should be – exciting. Being in control of your finances allows you to be in control of your life. It’s your ticket to freedom and to doing and owning what you want.
That’s why it’s so important to understand exactly how the financial services industry works and how to navigate it effectively, and to have all the insider knowledge on what’s going on behind the scenes.
But in order to do that, you need someone to break things down for you in the clearest and simplest way possible and to have the inside scoop on the industry.
That’s what I love doing. I’ve spent more than seven years writing for national newspapers and financial trade press including The Sun, The Daily Mail and Citywire, turning complex finance topics into interesting stories and explainers and making them accessible to everyone, as well as breaking stories on the secret goings on at some of the biggest names in financial services.
As a Personal Finance Writer here at Investing Insiders, I’m continuing in that quest.
My work has been shortlisted for more than 25 financial journalism awards including 20 prestigious Headline Money awards.
In 2023, I was highly commended as the Rising Star of the Year, where judges said I “delivered solid investigation work that led to impressive scoops with clear impact”, and last year I won the Pensions Journalist of the Year award where judges praised my “skill at reaching my audience with a well-judged use of case studies backed up with powerful storytelling”.
I know personal finance like the back of my hand and I don’t owe anything to anyone. My views are my own and I want to provide you with the most genuine and honest opinions and insights possible, so you can use them to form the basis of your financial decisions.
